PCI-8512/2 backwards compatibility with PCI-CAN HS/2

Has anybody tried the newer PCI CAN card PCI-8512/2 in an old system based around the older PCI-CAN HS/2 ?

I'm hoping if I get the newer one I will not have to do any software changes if it is.

Also if so is there a minimum driver NI-CAN level too, it's an old Windows XP system.

The PCI-CAN HS (2 Port) CAN Interface Device requires the NI CAN 18.0 Device Driver.
The PCI-8512 - CAN Interface Device requires the NI XNET 19.5 Device Driver.

NI-XNET devices are backward compatible with existing NI-CAN Channel and Frame API code and NI toolkits with the NI-XNET Compatibility Library. However, if this is not the case you will need to migrate the code from NI-CAN to NI-XNET.
