Group/Division

With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLA's Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA’s metrology and inspection products, is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers. The RAPID division is the world leading provider of reticle inspection solutions for the semiconductor industry. The company provides inspection solutions to both the mask shops and the semiconductor fabs to ensure that lithography yields are consistently high thus enabling cost-effective manufacturing.

 

Responsibilities:

a)      This individual will utilize his/her skills in systems, hardware, algorithms, and software to develop, improve, document, and support system diagnostics and calibration software to be integrated into our state-of-the-art inspection platforms.

b)      Learn and understand existing SW architecture and be able to mentor junior engineers

c)      Drive and contribute to feature development from requirements to delivery following software development practices

d)      Identify ways to improve software development practices

e)      Participate in formal and informal code and design reviews.

f)       Think out of the box to come up with creative solutions to challenging problems rarely found elsewhere

g)      Develop complex applications in LabVIEW and other suitable technologies and deploy systems into the lab and the field.

h)      Develop cutting-edge algorithms for hardware tuning to image patterns at the nanometer level

i)        Perform root cause analysis for failures and implement solutions

j)        Work as a team member with physicists, engineers, computer scientists, and external vendors.

k)      Occasional global travel to customer sites to support installations

l)        Utilize advanced knowledge to develop, design, implement complex software; develop and execute test plans, guide the completion of projects and contribute to the development of organizational goals.

m)      Will spend time in clean-room environments in performing some tasks (10%-20%)


Qualifications:

Required skills:

a)      5+ years of programming in LabVIEW software and 3+ years at a senior level

b)      Certified LabVIEW Developer

c)      Excellent design, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

d)      Experience developing medium/large scale software application

e)      Experience working in multi developer software teams

f)       Strong understanding of OOP concepts

g)      Excellent communication skills

h)      Self-motivated to excel in assigned tasks and responsibilities

i)       Track record of completed projects in LabVIEW and other NI development suites

j)       Possess high curiosity, be a fast learner, and have the drive to turn prototype ideas into quality production code used in mission critical applications.

k)      Knowledge of and laboratory exposure to electrical, mechanical and optical measurement instruments


Preferred but not required

a)      Experience in developing measurement and calibration software in LabVIEW

b)      Have Certified LabVIEW Architect (CLA)

c)      Project management experience

d)      Hands on development in semi capex business segment

e)      Knowledge of Python or other scripting language

 

Minimum Qualifications

Doctorate (Academic)

OR

Master's Level Degree with minimum 2 years of experience
OR
Bachelor's Level Degree with minimum 3 years of experience.
