On the episode of MythBusters shown originally on 24 March 2010 "Soda Cup Killer", NI DAQ hardware and even an NI application engineer (whose name unfortunately I wasn't able to read in the subtitle) are used to capture data from a load cell when plastic cups of soft drinks, and "slushies" were fired from an air cannon to simulate the high speed impact of one thrown from a car. The both showed the hardware and mentioned NI by name. Kewl!

Watching the two-hour special "Mythbusters Top 25 Moments" (a must see anthology) which is currently streaming for free at the highlighted link.
At 55:52, a clear view of a very LabVIEW-looking front panel and the word "LabVIEW" on a Win98 taskbar:

NI Hardware was featured again last night in the final season of Mythbusters. Some very cools stuff with simulated land mines. I wonder if NI has considered getting Adam and Jamie to come to NIWeek?

I don't know them personally, but I'd suspect NI is not the type of job they would want. More hands on, experimental builds, one offs for customers who have needs that are more unique to their skill set.
By the way there is a "Wiki" on NI's site that lists times that NI technology has been seen on TV.

This list hasn't been updated in 3 years. Or LV/NI hasn't been on TV in 3 years.

I started a thread for my random sightings of NI products in the wild a little while back:
