Besides post on the forums from the hotel- Don't worry I'll be doing that too. But an interesting gig popped up and I'll bag it nicely yet, I'm not too familliar with the area. I wouldn't want to miss a hidden gem.
Any help ladies and gents?

Starting this Thursday: http://www.vancouverwinejazz.com/
Include Portland, OR in your search. It's a few minutes away from Vancouver.

Yes, Vancouver, WA is basically a northern suburb of Portland!
When will you be here, and for how long?
There's nothing NOT to do in this area. Portland is a great food town with lots of outdoor activities during the dry season. You can visit the Cascades (Mt. St. Helens is less than an hour north of the 'Couv), OR/WA coast, wine country that some say grows better product than CA, high desert west of the Cascades, etc. Seattle is less than three hours north with even more to do.
The Hillsboro Hops have a couple more weeks to their inaugural season (Class A Short Season Affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks). SafeCo is a beautiful place to catch a Mariners game if you're in Seattle. Ducks and Beavers football seasons start soon also, if that's your thing. Eugene and Corvallis are less than a couple hours away.

I did do a few years up in Bremerton a few years back but, the kids that were born there are old enough to drink now and, I didn't make it much farther south than Raineer.
I may have to make it up to one of your LUG meetings to meet y'all.

If you're into aviation, Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum in McMinnville, WA. Home of the 'Spruce Goose' and many other rare planes.

Jeffrey Zola has a good point: what do you like to do? I know an avid skeet shooter who knows good clubs. There are some good handgun seminars around, too. My fgf (forever-girl-friend) runs a marathon or a trail ultra at least once every month, so she knows some good routes. If you're a bicycler, there are some long, pretty trails. Rent a kayak on Lake Union in Seattle or maybe on the river in Vancouver/Portland. (I'm North of Seattle, so really shouldn't be commenting.) Come back and ride the Bremerton ferry to see how everything's changed. Definitely hit the coast: Long Beach, and such.
I expected more Portland folks like Zola to pipe up. Maybe they don't read breakpoint.

The real home of the Spruce Goose is down here in the Southland. It was acquired by the Evergreen museum in the early nineties...
The hangar where it was built is a few miles from my house.... 😄

You made me do a double-take. My brother's name is Todd. 😉
The first half of your time will be absolutely dry weather, and the second half will be during the transition to the wet season.
Let's go thru your list:
Museums, etc: Although I've never been in my 15 years living here, the Portland Art Museum is worth checking out. The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) is more kid-oriented, but may be worth an afternoon. The Oregon Symphony performs regularly, and the Portland Opera stages 3-4 performances a year.
Historic sights: There's not nearly as much history out here as there is back East. But there were these two guys named Lewis and Clark who strolled into the area way back when.
Karaoke: I'm sure you can fine something..... Not my thing!
Natural Parks: Too many to list! You want mountains, forests, desert, beach........
