You would think, since I use computers, that I would have the sense to use the Body of the post to convey details about my questions, but no, I'll just use the Subject line. That seems completely normal. It'll stick out like a sore thumb. What is an array?

I'll have to dig up the source pic... wet cat with a human grin.  I've switched to a gerbil holding a cheeto with human eyes/nose/mouth on it on a few other forums... Smiley Very Happy  Might be time to update this forum's avatar too. :rofl  Kinda known as the "creepy avatar guy" on a bunch of forums I frequent.

Looks like you've done that now.

HAHAHA.... Okay, I know what's going on now.  When I set my avatar here, I just copied/pasted the URL from another forum since i didn't have that file locally.  vB grabs the image and caches it on the server, apparently Lithium just keeps that URL and loads it from that URL instead of the server.  (right-click and "view image"... guess what one of the other forums I use is.. :P)

Changed my avatar there earlier this week, and my browser was still using cache. Smiley Tongue

That image requires I reanalyze one of my basic rules regarding the four letter word "cute".

I had previously believed that anything fuzzy that did NOT have sharp teeth qualified as cute. THat critter demands a catagory of its own!

I will have to get my wife to advise on this one (she has the final say when defining "cute" in my house).

OK. Last night, for whatever reason, I had a dream that I was chewing on some chewing gum and it somehow got extra "sticky" and all of my fillings and inlays started falling out. Luckily, for some reason my dentist was right there to help me. Which is weird since I had a dental checkup last week and everything was A-OK. That was a bad dream. After seeing that picture I now realize I don't want to go to sleep tonight.

If she calls that thing cute then you need to get out. Don't pack any of your belongings just LEAVE. And if for whatever reason you decide to stay then promise you will not go to sleep in the house - ever! There is only one reason anyone would call that cute. I don't know what the reason is but it can't be good.

One of my front teeth has a crown because of a hockey accident in 3rd grade, and I have recurring teeth nightmares.  So does one of my friends, because her tooth fell out when chewing gum, strangely enough.  Do you have any teeth traumas in your past too?

Teeth no mouth yes.

Warning: if you are squeemish you may not want to read this spoiler.

Spoiler

I was born with a submucus clef palete and was the guinie pig back 1964 when they first came up with a new repair technique that harvested tissue from inside the mouth rather than from the ,,, where we sit. I spent a good part of my early life with my mother yelling to sit still and let them look in my mouth while a line formed at the door of exam room so they can see it too.

I am now more than happy to shell the extra money out of my pocket to put me to sleep for any serious work and take valium before routine visits.

If you woke up after surgery with your mouth packed full of bandages and your tongue tied to the side of the bed (to keep it out of the way durring surgery) you would probably fear dentist as well.

No, sir. I don't like dentist or oral surgeons.

And now for something less squeemish...

If we ever get the oppertunity to associate images with threads, that critter would make a perfect mascot for the Rube thread since it solicites the same reaction and rube code;

What is that?

Is it real?

That has to be a joke, isn't it?

You go through many of the same phases when you see Rube Goldberg code as when you see the Midget Cheeto Eating Rat Man. The final feeling you are left with is different for each.

One of them is actually real and the other is a joke. In the end the MCERM leaves you with a nice happy feeling, much like when you hear a really good joke. RG code leaves you with that same feeling but it is spoiled by the sad realization that it is no joke.

If the MCERM was real it would be an excellent mascot.

They will tell you that God is perfect and never makes a mistake. Figure 1 below is an actual Rube Goldberg of His creation. It leaves you with the same initial reaction as both the MCERM and RG code. But the final sinking "OMG" feeling you are left with is that it is quite real.
