Error -10403 in previously working software

Hi,
In 2001 I developed a Visual Basic application for the PCI-6602 Timer/Counter card. It was used successfully for a couple of years and then the project became dormant. About a month ago it was revived on exactly the same PC as before. The application now gives Error -10403 for each attempted call to the NI library functions. No change was made to the software or hardware configuration but the PC does have a flat CMOS battery which causes a default system date c. 1998.

Using the NI Test Bench I have confirmed that the card is recognised and functioning (simple counting test was done).

What causes Error -10403 to appear in previously working software? How can it be corrected? Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

voyager,

This error indicates that you are trying to use the device in a unsupported manner.  This forum may help.

If you run one of the example programs do you get this error?  I can see no reason for the application to change working states if indeed nothing has changed.  Have you done some front panel configuration?  Is that exactly the same?

Hi Jason,
Thanks for the reply. I agree that it is very strange that this application stopped working. What do you mean by "front panel configuration"?

Regards, Johan.

I think Jason was referring to the any settings on the Graphical User Interface (GUI). Can you verify that all the appropriate drivers (DAQmx) are installed on the PC? This can be viewed in the program Measurement & Automcation Explorer (MAX) under configurations and software.
