continous pulse train sychronized with external trigger

Hello,

I need to generate a continuous pulse train with my 6602-PCI card using LabView. The following is what I need to do.

1. To generate a continuous pulse train of 10Hz and 0.001 duty factor to run my laser at 10Hz since this laser needs to be run at 10Hz to be thermally stablized to meet specification.

2. The second part is that I need to sychronize the pulse train with an external trigger every 1 minute or so. Since out experiment happens every one minute and we need to fire the laser at particular time with repect to the experiment starting time. And this one-minute-sychronization-cycle repeats the whole day when we do experiment.

So, what I need is to initialize the continous pulse train freely at any time at first stage. Then at a particular time of external trigger, this 10Hz pulse train needs to be sychronized with that external trigger signal, which means the first pulse in the continuous pulse train after that particular trigger time happens between 100ms-200ms after its leading pulse as compared a contant 100ms delay. Or it can be view as a 10Hz contiuous pulase train needs to be stopped by an external trigger signal and then to be restarted by the same or another external trigger signal.

I need to know if 6602 is possible to accomplish this goal. Can someone please point me the direction of doing this with suitable hardware?

Thank you very much form you tuime and help.

The NI 6602 should be able to handle this task. Also, see the following link for examples on pulse trains 😉
