I am having cRIO NI 9361 counter module for measuring frequency output per second from my device.
My device has channel of Frequency output with 24 VDC passive power supply (externally powered). I have done the setup as below.
DI negative terminal and COM terminal of the 9361 counter module is shorted.
DI positive terminal is connected to the positive terminal of the FO channel.
And DI negative terminal and COM connected to the negative terminal FO channel of the device.
Use case:
If I set frequency output to 1000Hz, then at NI 9361 should read the 10000 counts/pulses after 10 seconds.
So, I kept FO running for some time (1000 Hz for 10 sec). Using tool to give 10sec wait and after 10 sec, reading the NI counter tag value over LabView. With FO value of 1000, in NI tag it should read value greater than or equal to 10000 after every 10 secs.
Problem:
I have done the same setup as above with my device and NI 9361, but I am getting random value at NI 9361 which I can read over my LabView.
I do check with DMM, it is also showing me 1000Hz frequency for 1000Hz Frequency output at channel, but NI 9361 counter is giving some random values per seconds more than 100000.
Kindly correct me, if there are any corrections to be done in my setup. I have tried lot many times but not getting solution out of it. Your help will be highly appreciated.
Thanks,
