rs232 port on my desktop but won't work on my thinkpad...

I wrote a little vi to set the channel sizes on a liquid particle counter. It works fine on my desk top PC, but when I put it on an old IBM Thinkpad for the cal lab it wouldn't work. I put test view on the thinkpad and I checked the comm capturing it on my desktop using hyperterminal. I got the string from test view but nothing from my program. I set up my port, so I don't know why... help?

Alien007,

If this is an .exe, make sure that NI-VISA Runtime is installed on the IBM Thinkpad.

Also, make sure that the version of NI-VISA Runtime matches the version of NI-VISA installed on the development machine.
