Parallel port usage

Solved!
Go to solution

Hello,

I have much experience with earlier versions of Dasylab (up to V9) and recall its ability to use the PCs Parallel port as a 'quick & easy' way of getting digital lines in/out of the PC. If memory serves me well, this was done by enabling the Soundcard Driver??

However, I have recently purchased the latest version (V13) and it appears the digital input / output modules are now greyed out when the sound card driver is selected ....i.e. it only allows for analogue (audio) I/O.

Is it still possible to drive the digital lines of this port with the latest version ....or have I missed something??

Thanks & Regards,

That feature was removed a few releases ago. With the changes in Windows after XP, it became problematic.

If you are still using XP with DASYLab 13, and still have a parallel port, you can salvage the V9 sound card driver and try it.

If you need me to upload it or email it to you (it's typically an illegal attachment), let me know by private message with your email.
