how to use 1/3rd octave analysis?

Is it possible to use 1/3rd octave analysis in Dasylab with a sampling rate of approx. 5kHz? If yes, how?

This is not possible, since the module filters frequencies up to 16kHz, so you need at least the double of that as the sample rate (Nyquist). I tried it out, and the module will work for 30 kHz, but it is optimized for 51.2 kHz. Amplitudes might be slightly incorrect if you use another, slower, sample rate.

Hello,

I am now get some extra "force"😁 and have tried to learn some about fundamentals of signal analysis and also how use Dasylab this kind of analysis. I loaded demo -version of Terz -add ons and compare it to third/octave module. Seems to that they do not analyzie signals with same manner. Could someone explain me which is the difference between those. Thank in advance.

Attached screenshot results of both modules

The "Terz" Third Octave modules were developed as an add-on to DASYLab. You would need to direct your question to them.

Hello,

I just wondering why this third/octave module is in Dasylab pro unless yo cannot use it for example in noise analysis. What is the point of that if none can use it?

Regards

Mika
