I have an application where we are reading position sensors and operating a pneumatic cylinder. When one sensor is tripped then an output commands a pneumatic solenoid to move the cylinder in the opposite direction. The sensors and pneumatic solenoids are both 24VDC. We are using an SCB-100, in pass through mode, into a NI-6514.
We are using Rhino 24VDC power supplies to externally apply power to the OUTPUT VCC pins of the SCB-100. I have the (-) terminal of the power supply going to the OUTPUT GND pins of the SCB-100. I get expected operation from Port 6, but am not getting expected operation from Port 4. All lines on Port 4 measure 0VDC with respect to ground AND with respect to VCC.
Is this a sign of damage to the Port or did they get deactivated in some way?
We are trying to use this setup to get some consistency out of the system so we can plug a standard solenoid/sensor configuration into the SCB-100 without doing any wiring.
