I am Vaibhav Hatode from Tata Institute of Fundamental Research. We are
Designing a Multi-Target Disc which will be rotated by a Stepper motor
at 0.5 RPM. The disc will be operated in a start-stop mode every 14.4
degrees of rotation. After one rotation (say clockwise) it reverses its
direction (to anti-clockwise). This Disc is Coupled with RENISHAW
Optical Angular Encoder(Quadrature type) for position readout and
precision positioning of the targets. We would like the optical encoder
to work as a feedback loop to work with the stepper motor and control
the positioning. We are using RENISHAW readhead RGH20F and REF
as a interface which generate RS422 square wave signals.
I request you to suggest us the NI Modules, Chassis and interfaces to
read the output of RENISHAW optical Encoder pulse so we can precisely
position our target and also read the index pulse or marker pulse for
changing the direction of rotation.
We currently use Measurement Studio version 8 for other applications of
data acquisition and control. We would like this system also to be
integrated into our Measurement Studio based control system.
