What is the SBC-100 pinout for a 6513 or 6515?

What is the pinout at an SBC-100 when connected to a 6513 or 6515 through an SH100-100 cable? The SBC-100 only comes with a sticker for the pinout when connecting up to M-series boards, and its manual says to look in the board's manual for the pinouts of other serial boards, like DIOs. But the manuals for the 6513 and 6515 only give the cable pinouts. I need to know how they are mapped at the blocks in the SBC-100.

I looked at the manual for the SBC-100 and it seems there are some switches you set for straight-through operation. Then you would have a one for one correspondence between the pins on DAQ card and the numbered terminals on the SBC-100.

Yeah, that was my guess. On a follow-up, I've been trying to understand the +5V pin (100) on those two boards. From page 4-5 of the manual,

(NI 6512/6513/6514/6515 Only) To supply +5 V of isolated power, use an

external power supply over +8 V on Bank 6 and Bank 7.

Does that mean that if connect up a power supply of at least 8 V with the positive terminal to P7.COMM and the negative terminal to P7.GND, then P7.+5V will be at 5 V? Same thing for P6.COMM, P6.GND, and P6.+5V?

That's a question that I can't answer myself. Someone with more experience will need to handle that one.

Hello Tim,

You are correct.  You need to connect an external power supply over +8V to power the +5V lines on bank 6 and 7.  The COM line is also referred to as VCC on the pinouts of page 3-19 (for the 6515).  Please let me know if you have any additional questions.   This line is typically just used for regulating a variable supply source or dividing down a power supply source to +5V.

Regards,

Paul C.
