I'm using PCIe 6535, 8255 handshake, data acquisition on port2:3 with an
iBase MI945X http://www.ibase-usa.com/MI945X.html motherboard, 4GB RAM,
Windows XP SP 2. The computer hangs and sometimes eventually reboots
after the hang. I do not have automatic reboot enabled in XP. I have
crash dump file creation enabled, though I don't get any dmp files.
Attached is a modified version the example C:\Documents and Settings\All
Users\Documents\National Instruments\NI-DAQ\Examples\DAQmx ANSI
C\Digital\Handshaking\8255\Input-8255 with Delays. I made minimum changes
required for our hardware and to reproduce the system hang. I run this
program in the IDE debugger with a break point on the DAQmxReadDigitalU16
call. I confirm several successful reads, then remove the break point and
Go. After several seconds the system hangs. The release build run from
command line also hangs the computer after a 2-3 seconds.
The hardware is attempting to handshake data at a rate of about 950,000
samples per second.
Thanks,
Barclay
