We've been discussing the desire to have some form of hardware watchdogging on the c series IO with the framework.
ie. If the controller has a problem, we want the IO to hit some configurable default state.
We have some 9144's running custom FPGA that handles this but it's not very easy to integrate this into a scan engine module.
Does NI support hooks to the EtherCAT watchdogging capablility?
What has DECAF done in the past to mitigate this issues?
We are currently reccomending external hardware watchdog relays.
