Cannot format CRio II with 2012 software

The format process keeps erroring out when I try it.

Unable to complete operation because of unexpected error:
Error 1 occurred at TCP Read in NI_InternetTK_Common_VIs.lvlib:TCP Read xTP Reply.vi:14->NI_InternetTK_FTP_VIs.lvlib:FTP Get Command Reply.vi:13->NI_InternetTK_FTP_VIs.lvlib:FTP Open Session.vi->ConfigUtility.lvlib:2012_FTPOpen.vi->ConfigUtility.lvlib:2012_FTPFolder.vi->ConfigUtility.lvlib:ReImageTarget.vi->ConfigUtility.lvlib:Dialog.vi

Possible reason(s):

LabVIEW:  An input parameter is invalid. For example if the input is a path, the path might contain a character not allowed by the OS such as ? or @.

Has anyone seen this error before?

Hey mgurgol,

I haven't seen this particular error before. It seems like maybe something is blocking FTP to the cRIO. Are you able to open an FTP connection to the controller using Windows Explorer? I would also make sure that the cRIO is on the same subnet as the computer. Which image are you trying to put onto the cRIO? Is it the LabVIEW Image or the WindRiver image? Are you able to find, and have permissions to access the image file on disk?

I was finally able to reformat the Crio and load the V43 software on it by obtaining a fresh copy of the FRC utilities software and re-installing.  Originally I had installed the password protected software.  I don't know if something changed between the two versions, but it worked for me.

Thank you for your reply.

Nothing should have changed between those two versions. Maybe something went wrong with the original download. In any case I am glad its up and running for you.
