Driver Station Missing VIs

When our driver station boots two things are happening:

1)  The software auto logs into the driver account and tries to start the Driver Station software.  How can I stop the auto login?

2)  While starting the driver station software two sub-VIs are missing:  "Read from FRC IO.vi" & "Write to FRC IO.vi"  Any ideas on how to put those VIs on the driver station?

You can stop the driver station from automatically loading the driver account by holding shift when it is booting.

Are you seeing the error about the missing VIs before or after you installed the driver station update. Are you following the directions in section 2 of the control system manual?

I just posted a similar question over on the FIRST forums.

For our team this occurred after we installed both the Driver Station mandatory update and the Labview mandatory update on the Classmate.  For us it looks like the problem is caused by the Labview mandatory update - everything was working fine after installing the Driver Station mandatory update, and broke once we installed the Labview update.

The first error we get is about a broken reference to "nicyapi.dll" - a dialog pops up allowing us to specify a different location, but we can't find that file anywhere on the Classmate.

We tried re-installing the Driver Station update but that had no effect.  Worst case we will restore the Classmate from the USB recovery image, but are hoping there's an easy way to fix the broken reference.

I talked with NI Bob (NI tech support in Dallas). He said he notified NI R&D of the missing DLL porblem. They will get onto it Monday and so a solution should be ready (an update to the update) by Tuesday or Wednesday at the latest.

This is exactly what happend to us.

We installed both updates on the Classmate and then the problem started with exactly your symptoms.

Thanks for the information on stopping the auto-boot.

Hello,

There is a known issue regarding the Driver Station missing the nicyapi.dll caused by installing the Driver Station Mandatory Update prior to installing the LabVIEW Mandatory Update.  Please look at the article describing the Driver Station Missing nicyapi.dll Issue.  There is not a need to restore the Intel Classmate.

Please make sure to either post to these forums or call NI FIRST Support if this does not solve the issue.

Thanks!

Andrew,

Have you ran in the Mandatory Updates on the machine that you are receiving the errors that you are missing the "Read from FRC IO.vi" and "Write to FRC IO.vi"?

Can you tell me the location that it is pointing to for these VIs?

I have not seen this specific error but I have seen another like it where it does not find files even though they are located in the folder that it is pointing to.  When you are prompted to browse for the file can you browse to the location that it says the VIs are located and verify that they are in fact missing from that folder?

With more information we can make sure to discover the reason for this issue and help you get around it.  I look forward to hearing from you!

Thanks!

Your post providing the dll was effective.

I downloaded the dll and put it in the WIndows\System32 folder

The DriverStation software works properly.

Thanks
