I am seeing a problem that crops of periodically, and i am not sure exactly what to do. I start up the classmate along with the
router, all seems fine, i can ping to the router via the cable and it sees it.
I then boot up the bot, and it seems there are times that the bot/bridge will be seen and sometimes not.Other times it connects and then
it just stops communication. and then at other times it connects fine with no communication errors. I have connected the cRio via the tether and
i can ping it just fine, then i go through the bridge again and it may or may not connect. Is there a good sequence that i should be using each time
so i don't get this sporadic communcation???
i have checked out other forums and it seems like some teams have not even been able to compete because of this bridge problem.
One fellow suggested it was a boot up issue between the cRio and the bridge.
any incite would be great as we are ready to go to our competition this next weekend
thanks John

Do you have all the updates installed? The update released in the middle of February fixed an issue described as:
If the CompactRIO boots before the wireless gaming adapter, then the FRC Driver Station cannot detect the robot unless you reboot the CompactRIO.
The driver station was changed so that the CompactRIO can detect the robot regardless of whether the CompactRIO or wireless gaming adapter boots first.
I wonder if this is the problem you're having.
As a side note, the word you're looking for is "insight," not "incite" (a word meaning "provoke").

well i reinstalled the updates, hoping that will take care of the problem.
i am going to try it alot and see if that really fixes the problem?
i do have one
more question, i notice that in the network connections
on the classmate it shows the connection as 801.11g, but in the instructions for pairing
the router and bridge it says use 801.11b rather than the 801.11g or 801.11b tab, will that affect
the bridge?
also should the wireless on the classmate be on or off or does it matter?
thanks

well reinstalled the ds 1.1 and i am still having the same sporadic problem
i have a very intermittent connection to the bridge and it seems to be getting worse.
any other help would be nice, is there a way to see how the whole thing is booting
also when i update the classmate drivers station how does the message get to tht cRio??
or does it??
thanks john
