I think the more profitable protocol involves requesting beers from groupies. "So, I hear you like me, have a beer!" Psych. "So, I hear you like me, I'll take a Shiner." Money.
Happy Friday

It's not the few large donors on top that really count, but the size of the long tail. 😄
(Chris Anderson gave a NI week keynote a few years ago)
For example count the number of donors with more than one kudos donation. 😉

So at first thanks (Laura) to get the new sort feature.
Second, thanks to Ben for Kudos No 100.
Thanks to Jeff to compile the list from the other point of view. Wow, impressive. All those people kudoed on this page by Ben are brilliant posters. Again, I'm very proud to appear on that list. Especially as Ben is outstanding with his experience, his judgment is worth more than any statistical number...
I'll try to verify if we have a pareto-distribution and get a quantitative measure of the long tail. But don't expect it too soon, as other contributions to our community need their share of time as well.

So how do we distinguish the tail of answering questions vs the tail of posting ideas?
Quoting Lucy "Hmmmmm???"

This might be somewhat moot. As it is Kudos is one metric (of many) that tends to indicate strength of contibution to the forum. While I tend to focus in LabVIEW and certain hardware boards- Others seem more interested in Idea exchanges or TestStand. Sorting Kudos to user by Board or Community could show an interesting means of identifying "experts" in specific diciplines yet, the advanced users with the familiararity to utilize this fearure have probably made fair guesses that are reasonably acurate from direct interaction with the users. At best, it may aid in identifying "Mentors" in new fields of exploration. (Like, who should I listen to when I delve into Utiliboard) Again some time "trolling" the new board would give me a reasonable idea.
But I'd USE the feature if it was available

OK I'm not the super-statistician (I rightly leave that to others.) but Christian Got me thinking of a point that Darin K. suggested when Ben threatened to stop giving Kudoes (search Kudoholics).
I took a look at some of those "tails" and the following graph is suggestive of some form of "Organization - in - Chaos" although I won't postulate any conclusions. (its a representitive sample only). Below, Kudos from users to Myself, F. Schubert, Darin K. and Ben.
Does this suggest the Forums are "Self- Organizing"? Could a general statement be concluded?
