Retiring posts

I have seen a few too many times where people are adding on to posts in some cases a decade old.  Should posts expire / become read only after some time (i.e.. 5 years).  Some of the most silly replies come form people inquiring if a job is still available for 2006 thread (the company might not even exist anymore).  I would rather see a new well formulated post instead of an addon to a very old thread.  Do we really want to know how to do something in LabView 4.0?

There should be some soft barriers for all attempts ot post to old or solved threads. This could be a popup window, or even better some bold red text above the composition window.

For example:

"You are trying to reply to a thread that had no activity for more than two months. Make sure that your reply is still relevant. If you have a new problem, please press cancel and start a new thread."

"You are trying to reply to a thread that has been marked as solved. If you think you have a better solution, please continue. If you are trying to find a solution to a similar problem, please press cancel and start a new thread".

Thanks for the idea Christian & Paul! I don't know that we have the ability to implement this feature now, but I will pass along the suggestion.
