What options are there available for Source Control and Version Management for G Web Projects?

The same as just any other programming language, SVN, Perforce, Mercurial, Git etc.,?

My question was probably more on to do with which files need to be versioned, and is it meaningful to version them, i.e. is it possible to meaningfully determine changes between different file versions?  I have no idea how the "source" is stored in G Web, whether it is text based or is it stored in amorphous binary?
