Hi David,
Am struggling my way through using Agilents E8358A PNA and noticed that this thread seems to be the place to be. I have got most of my program working, however i am trying to load a cal file (Using the GUID) into the instrument. The problem is that the setup i have has a lot of external switch and a lot of CW freqs going into the PNA. I am using it for some relative phase measurements and have just performed some through cals. The problem being is that i have all these through cals which need to be uploaded on the fly to the instrument. However if i change CW or something the "Calibration ON/OFF" is switched off when the cal set is no longer valid. However when all my switching is done and i then want to upload then next cal file it does not turn on the calibration. The new cal file is selected but the correction is not applied. Is there a command to simply turn the correction on? I may well be missing something but i have been over the PNA LabVIEW drivers several times and can not see how to get this working. Thanks in advance
Craig

I am also new to LabVIEW, so my question may sound pretty elementary, but I have read through the instructions that were listed and I also have a question. I have set all of my channel parameters, I have a start/stop frequency range of 15 to 40 GHz, a power level of -15 dB, an IF bandwidth of 300 Hz, and I have selected 1601 as my number of data points.
Using the vi’s listed in the vi tree, I don’t see anything in the Calibration section that could help me. What vi’s need to be selected to automate the calibration wizard for an Agilent E8364B PNA? I would like to automate the calibration process of using the calibration wizard to select an unguided calibration, select TRL, select the TRL KA Charboard, and walk the user through the calibration process using a TRL calibration kit. Can this be done?

can anyone explain the diffference between FDATA and RDATA?

FDATA = Formatted Data
RDATA = Raw Data
I would initially recommend the manual for the device for specific differences. Formatted Data would include any calibration the NA might be using. Raw data would not. Formatted also includes additional measurement setup options which may be in use where in Raw does not (i.e. electrical delay).

Hello,
I am curious if you knw how to do this while using the Agilent PNA drivers. I have talked to keysight and apparently I need to find or make a VI tht will do a SENS_X query but getting an .s2p file would be so much better seeing as it would give frequency magnitude and phase. If you have information on how to do it with the drivers it would be greatly appreciated.
