Experience retreiving CRT plots from older HPIB Spectrum Analyzers

I have 2 older model HP tools: 4145A and 3582A, both released before the PC was around.
I also have the NI GPIC via USB-HS cable and assoiciated drivers. I can write to both devices, but am having trouble reading from them.
Main focus is to get the screen dump ploted to my PC, as opposed to the old X-Y plotter that is supposed to hang off the back.

Anyone pull this off?

Mahalo for you time and interest,

Are you having problems reading trace data as well or is it just the screen print? If you can read measurements, then the simplest thing to do is to read trace data, etc., and display it on the pc. What programming language are you using? Both LabVIEW and CVI make it simple to display data on a graph. If the instruments only have a print to plotter command, then you'll have to do this or capture the print data and emulate a plotter.

Hello guys,

I need the IVI drivers to acquire some 3582A plots with Labview. Anybody knows where I can find them?

Thanks and regards.

Neither NI or Agilent has any type of driver for the instrument. That instrument has been obsolete for a long time. The date for the operating manual on Agilent's web site is 1981! Hopefully, someone will post that they have a driver they are willing to share. Otherwise, you will need to have LabWindows/CVI to create an IVI-C driver.
