ghgfhgf,

If NI does not have an instrument driver for your instrument then all hope is not lost! Check out the following KB for more information:

Where Can I Find an Instrument Driver For My Instrument?

Hope that helps.

Not sure what the old link was you should first check with the vendor of the instrument to see if they have any sort of driver. Besides LabVIEW drivers, you can use IVI-C and IVI-COM drivers.

On the Instrument Driver Network, you will find information on how to request a driver or how to write your own. You also have the Instrument I/O Assistant if you do not need a full driver.

You should also provide the make and model of the instrument. There's a chance that someone has developed one and would be willing to share.

This seems to be an internal link, even a champion cannot open it.

But yes it is perfectly possible to write an instrumentdriver yourself in LabVIEW.

What you need is the description of all the commands to the instrument and the way it listens to the bus (the protocol)

So if there is a programmers manual, maybe somebody wants to help you.

Anyway name the instrument vendor, and instrument type exactly on this forum and maybe someone has at least a starting point for a driver.

good luck ( I don't have  the megger(insulation tester) driver)

greetings from the Netherlands

Hello Guys,

Thanks for your responses.

I am going to connect lecroy 9314 oscilloscop to my computer. this osciloscope supports LV but the problem comes up when I want to connect it using the prologix GPIB-USB controller that seems do not support LV, as a result I can not use LV to to detect my osciloscope.

Any idea??

Either use a real GPIB controller or rewrite the driver to use the LabVIEW syntax that is documented by Prologix.

I've stated my opinion before that this prologix controller is for hobbyists and if you want to use it for real work and with existing drivers, by the time you are done with all of the modifications, you've spent so much time that any dollar savings is gone. Of course, if you don't place a dollar amount on your time, then you can justify the Prologix.

Hi,

I have to follow your advise and ask in the void.Does somebody have experience connecting labview with a Megger Insulation tester? Or at least a driver?
