2d picture control smooth updates

Hi,

I have a 2d Picture on my front panel that flickers. I know a solution is to enable smooth updates by right clicking > Advanced > Smooth Updates, but for some reason that option is greyed out. Does anyone know what is going on?

Hi! 

What version of LabVIEW are you running and can you drop a 2D picture control in a new VI with no data connected and select Smooth Updates? If you can do it in another VI can you attach your code here so I can take a look and see if we can figure it out?

Not that much of a solution, but I found the problem. For some reason, if the background of the picture control is transparent, the smooth updates option becomes disabled. I'm using LV 2013.

I found this related thread from way back in 2008.  It sounds like the behavior may have the same cause.  There was a CAR filed for it.
