What do you mean by "generate dates"? I don't see any date or time functions in the code you posted.
If you don't have the instrument, but you want to simulate get readings from one, then you can't use the code you have attached. Just disable it. Replace it with a subVI that randomly creates a reading, or just replace it with a control you can manipulate to simulate the readings you would get from the instrument if you actually had it.
