Anyone know what's that Calc thing ?

Well, hover over it and look for the file name or context help. Even double-click it and inspect the diagram.

Who wrote it? Doesn't look like anything that ships with LabVIEW.

it was a previous year student that did this. Currently when i open the file it is a question mark, so currently i'm wondering which palettes to replace with.

Well, it there were an equivalent LabVIEW function, There would have been no need to create a subVI.

If you cannot find it in the nearby hierarchy and there is no documentation, there is now way to tell what it does. (well, we can make some guesses based on the input names, etc.)

What is the program supposed to do? What is the hardware?

The program is suppose to Turn away from obstacle, and the hardware i'm using is only the webcam and NI myRio.
