Analog Kid,
You forgot to mention running out of gas after telling the service station attendant to put in 20 and getting liters instead of your usual gallons.

I know. But the person I was talking to didn't know that. At the time, I was making numerous trips to Canada. So I wanted to see if the person would believe me. They fell for it for about a minute.

OK guys,
I've been laughing too hard, I think, while catching up on this thread. (the boss asked if I needed some time off for a trip to my pshrync)
But getting back to the original point, or comma, or " or '.
the RADIX separator has indeed been a source of confusion for the last few millennia. I'm surprise that no one has mentioned the Babylonian sextaguecimal mathematics that still complicates time, temp and arc (Degrees, Min, sec.) But, at least everyone agrees on how to separate these units. ^o, ", ',.
Perhaps the other common radices ( Hexadecimal, Decimal, Octal, Trinary and Binary) are just too new yet for universal acceptance.
That being said, I have 60mG of caffeine in my12oz cup of coffee that weighs 12.5oz so I guess I not only mix units I missus the cup and forget to differentiate between the fluid, troy and apothecary ounces.

On my way back to the States I ran over a 90mm nail in the road. had a hard time finding a 245mm-60-15" replacement tire,
That was the last time I ever went to the great country of Canada,
I'm so confused,

Speaking of which, tires must have the most confusing measurement system ever!
[millimeter] by [percent of width] by [inch]
Technically tires should have mm%" as size ...
