LV 2012 - If you have this type of structure and you click this tunnel, you can select the Linked Input Tunnel>>Create & Wire Unwired Cases option, but then LV just changes to the spool cursor and gets stuck for some time (30-60 seconds) and then when it gets unstuck nothing happens.
Note that to even have the option enabled in the menu, you need to have the second tunnel in the structure. I'm guessing this is linked to the fact that this feature wasn't implemented for case selectors - http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW-Idea-Exchange/Allow-Case-Terminal-to-be-selectecd-as-Linked-Input-Tu...

I see that I was showing the wrong case in the image, so just to make it clear - in the other case of the case structure each tunnel is connected to the tunnel which is parallel to it (which for the lower one is the selector).

no, not for me.
for me this option is just disabled / greyed out.
like this :
LV 12.0.1F1 - 32bits - XP Pro sp3

Like I said in the first post, you have to have another tunnel for the option to be enabled, but even if it's enabled that doesn't help. I suspect that the bug is in enabling the option. Allowing us to wire it would be a feature.

I'm trying to replicate with 12.0f3, but I'm not seeing the spool cursor get stuck.

So what does happen? Does nothing at all happen and you can immediately keep working?

It just doesn't get stuck. I'm able to move around the cursor, click on one of the input tunnels to link it, or hit escape and get the normal cursor back.
If you can post your VI in a state that is ready to go to try to link a tunnel, I'll give it a try. Just in case I didn't setup my VI quite right the way you showed and talked about.

You're right that the cursor is simply in tunnel-connect mode, but it seems like only very specific things take you out of that mode. If you're in case with an unwired tunnel you can wire to it and you can cancel out of it with Esc. I didn't see that because I was in a case with no unwired tunnels. In any case, it shouldn't do that.
I'm posting the VI just because I already saved it.
