Hi,
I'm relatively new to machine vision applications but have recently been given a project that requires the use of a high speed camera and labview.
after some research i have found that a Basler acA2000-340kc 340fps camera head suites my needs, however i would like to run my VIs on a laptop that has an Express Card slot.
i was wondering if anyone might know of a compatible express card frame grabber that could be used with labview IMAQ??
also just a second question, is labview a good approach for high speed machine vision applications, ive never used LV for analysing anything above 5 fps so to jump to 340 is quite significant for me.
Thanks!

Imaq is for NI cameralink cards only (NI driver), I have never seen an express card format from NI for CLC cards. You could use a third party card like bitflow (if they have an express card) but you will have to do lots of extra work to get labview and VDM to work with their dlls (been there don that and it is not fun). As far at the Basler acA2000-340kc 340fps you can do this in labview and Imaq no problem. Processing this data requires some thought since you will be getting 600-800MB per second of data. I have an article in December Vision systems magazine that uses this exact camera and I was using the full bandwith and processing the data as fast as it was comming in.
