Hello guys!
At this moment i am using Perspective Calibration to calibrate my camera in vision assistant. The camera is at a certain height and distance/angle (see figure) removed and it works fine in the testing phase.
But i was wondering if there is an other option or program to calibrate my camera without selecting 4 points with the real distances.
So i want to calibrate my camera by just giving 2 parameters: height and angle or distance (i prefer angle instead of distance). Is this possible or not?
I want to implement this in my thesis in the university.
Thank you!

Unfortunately, this is not possible. The only other way to calibrate the image to take into account the perspective distortion is to take an image of a grid of points, such as the one you can find at this location:
C:\Users\Public\Documents\National Instruments\Vision\Examples\Images\Nonlinear Grid.png.
Then, in the Vision Calibration Training interface (C:\Program Files (x86)\National Instruments\Vision\Utility\Calibration Training Interface\NI Calibration Training.exe), or from the Calibration step in Vision Assistant, choose to create a Distortion Model Calibration.
But the NI Vision Calibration functions don't let you create a perspective calibration by just entering the position on the camera with respect to the imaging plane.

Thank you for the respons!
Currently i am using the grid method in the test phase and it works fine.
But i will change my setup very often in the future so i kinda need it..
Is there really no possible methode to implement this?
Thank you.

I am afraid not in Vision Development Module. Sorry.

Good afternoon, I'm from Serra, Espirito Santo, Brazil. I'm doing an article for college and I'm not able to install the lab view vision assistant. You can not tell me a path to the installation. direct from the NI site stay in high cost for us Brazilians. Thank you, allisson.amorim@hotmail.com
