Can any one explain TCP Write and TCP Read Symbols?

I do not understand the TCP Write symbols that look like data comming from TCP or read data from TCP.  Ans TCP Read symbol look like write data to TCP or send data to TCP.

Thank you
Amit

Well, I never actually studied the icons for this before (I normally just recognize them by what's wired into\out of them), but a quick look at them shows that TCP Read shows the "packet" going into the computer (that would be your computer) and TCP Write shows it the other way around. That seems to make sense to me.

That make more sense. The TCP Read icon shows computer that look like it is connected to network. So I thought that is Network PC. But your reply solve my confusion.

Good point. I can see how that glyph can be understood as "the network".

As I said, I don't look at the icons themselves to see which function it is, so it never really bothered me.

I sort of agree that the icons are a little bit too busy and confusing.

All the file I/O have been redone in recent version and it might be a good idea to redo the networking stuff with the same general symbols

(e.g. eyeglasses for "read" and pencil for"write" next to the network symbol in this particular case). 😄
