I'm sure I've done this easily before on another project using an 8100 PXI controller a while ago...
I'm having problems retrieving the system image from both an 8133 and an 8135 PXI controller using the 'Get/Set System Image' example VI on a connected host PC. The PXI controllers can be seen and configured in MAX.
For the 8133 I get;
Error -2147220364 occurred at nisyscfg
Possible reasons: NI System Configuration: (Hex 0x80040474)
The specified directory was not found.
For the 8135 I get;
Error -2147220321 occurred at nisyscfg
Possible reasons: NI System Configuration: (Hex 0x8004049F)
Command is not supported by the given protocol
We are using LabVIEW 2012 DS2.
Also, I noticed in MAX, when I right click the 8135 system (under Remote devices) the option to format the drive is ghosted. Why would that be?
Any ideas?
Thanks!
Alan

At any point in time did you format the system with a Desktop RT USB key? MAX and the System Configuration API don't support formatting or imaging a Desktop RT target. If you did you will need to format it again using the instructions below and be very careful to switch the BIOS from Windows to RT before the system completely boots.

Many thanks!
The PXI racks were built by contractors - who I contacted and confirmed built with a USB installation.
I reformatted the controllers, and rebuilt using MAX (formatting to Reliance in preference to FAT) and now all works fine.
