Can't Unbundle By Name slider

Hey,

I'm trying to use a slider control with two sliders. The Unbundle By Name does not seem to work correctly. Is this expected behavior, or has it already been fixed in 8.5?

Error: "Some items in the cluster input to this Bundle/Unbundle By Name function are either unnamed or have the same name as other items."



I'm using LabVIEW 8.2 on WinXP.

Hi,

After giving the label for slider digital displays  in customize mode the unbundle by name will work.

Well, the sliders don't have names. I don't really see the need. How should they be called?

If you want to name them, cast them to a cluster with randomly named elements as follows. 🙂

Ok, so its expected behavior. I thought perhaps Slider 1, Slider 2, etc would be default. I see its the same thing with Gauges and XY Graphs. No worries then, I'll just add the extra step.

Don't get me wrong, it might be useful to give them automatic hierarchical names for convenience. Not a bad idea.

For example if the slide is called "Slide A", the sliders could be called "Slide A.slider1", "Slide A.slider2", etc.

There is always the product suggestion center . 🙂

I also think automatic naming similar to "Slider1" and "Slider2" would be a good idea.
