Can't change front panel background

Sounds like something is messed up in the background folder.

Could you show us a screen shot of the folder?

C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 2020\resource\background

You can also use your own image instead of the built-in images.

OK,

1. The MT.vi is a blank vi with no artifact
2. The "snippet" is just an image of a snippet with no actual snippet

So, Is that really an "artifact" (constant steady in one location) or "Ants Marching" like an active selection.

I strongly suspect that you have done "Something Bad (TM)" to the original vi Pane
