Can't get IMAQ OR operator to combine masks

I'm attempting to make the magic wand tool additive so that consecutive clicks will combine the new mask with the previous mask to work kind of like the photoshop magicwand when you hold control down. I took the labview vision magicwand example and then just added a IMAQ logical OR, however i can't get the logical OR vi to return anything but an exact copy of the image mask from source A. It doesn't seem to consider image source b at all. What am i missing with respect to using an IMAQ operator VI?

That may be because IMAQ and your operator use different definitions for "Mask." 

Your operator is probably vain and can't stand the thought of appearing "Pixilated".  Get a new operator that has been through the "Witness Protection" Program.  Your Local US Marshall may be able to direct you.
