I am new to Labview and would like to know if there is a VI available that will simply allow me to start and change the direction of my Nema 23 bipolar stepper motor with the use of my myDAQ.

Yep, the OP should have posted his question in the HW board, like here:
http://forums.ni.com/t5/Motion-Control-and-Motor-Drives/bd-p/240
So you want to use a myDAQ to control the motor. What other hardware components you have? I never worked with stepper motors, but I imagine you need some power electronics to drive the motor (myDAQ will not give you enough power output).
Did you search the NI forums and the web with the keywords: "myDAQ", "stepper motor" ?
Here are some results:

https://lavag.org/topic/18475-stepper-motor-control-using-ni-mydaq/
So I advice you to specify your components and project more in details, and you could also ask an admin to move this post to the hardware board (Options --> Report to a moderator).
Good luck for your project!
