Convert Labview 5.0 to Labview 8.5

I only have labview 8.5 on my system right now and try to open a very old Labview 5.0 library.

Do anybody know a quick way to convert the old format library to new one?

Either get in touch with your local NI rep or post it here for someone to upgrade it for you.  If you have access to LabVIEW 6.1 or 7.x, you can do it yourself by upgrading to that version, then open it in 8.5.

Thanks for the quick response!

Just a few questions, can I convert it using Labview 8.0?

What instructions to convert a whole library to the new version? I can not convert file by file (It is just too many subvis in the library).

Yes.  I should have added 8.0 and 8.2 to that list.  Probably the best thing to do is mass compile the directory where all the LabVIEW code resides.  Note that LabVIEW 5 won't be able to open it after that.  You may have some issues with llb files.  I get mixed results when upgrading them.  You may have to convert the LLB to a directory using LLB manager then rebuild into an LLB.  But, you may not have to either.

Can someone help me too and convert these Vi´s in an newer version. They are written in 5.0 and here we have only 8.6.

So it would be nice if someone can convert it for me.

thx

The single VI is in 8.2, so that doesn't need to be converted. The other 2 files are attached. They're in 8.2, which you can open in 8.6.

This is a related request: the .llb that I obtained to run a DAQ board that we have in the lab was written in Labview version 4.

I realize that conversting .llb is somewhat different that .vi files, but I was wondering if someone could either 1) convert the files or 2) point me in the right direction. My last option is to find someone on campus with an old copy of Labview laying around and saving the .llb to version 6 or 7, and then opening this new version with Labview 8.

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Martin

Hi Martin,

here you go.

One vi (GetCircSelector.vi) is still LV3.1 and so couldn't be converted by my current LV7.1 installation...

Best regards,
