DAC Digital input to Analog conversion

Hi all,

I have a PIC microcontroller and a 6031E board and I want my 8 digital bits comming from the PIC port to be converted in labview as an analog signal.  So the 8 bits in are in parallel to the DAQ board and converted to analog voltage.

First, I'm converting a sinewave voltage to be read into my PIC uC (A/D).  Do some calculations like differentiate that sinewave, then do D/A with labview. I'm not very good with labview so that part is not working.  I don't have any D/A IC's so i just wanted to quickly use labview to verify that my calculations are correct.

is there some kind of example i can use/look for?  i was planning on using the digital input port on my 6031E board but taking the data and connecting it to an digital to analog waveform vi doesn't work.  different sink and sources.

Thanks!

You will have to set up the 8 digital bits into a boolean array, and use the boolean array to number in the numeric conversion palette.  If you are using them embedded in waveforms,  you will probably have to put this at the heart of an assortment of waveform cluster unbundles and for loops (with or without autoindexing) to get it converted from a digital waveform to analog waveform.
