DAQ Current Damage

Hello,
I have a DAQCard-6024E.  I am attempting to measure the voltage from 1 pressure transducer and the temperature for 2 K-type thermocouples.  Initially we had some results in measuring the voltage off of the pressure transducer however the readings were not accurate to what they should have been.  We attempted to troubleshoot the problem by hooking the card directly to a DC powersupply and became very concerned when the card drew 1+ Amps.  Since this occured the card has not been responsive to any kind of readings and have tried multiple channels measuring just voltage or just thermocouple temperature.  I have tested these simple inputs using the DAQ Assistant subVI with just a waveform graph.  The thermocouple reading is just a constant number around 1260 (i'm not sure if this is suppose to be temperature or resistance).  The voltage reading is sporatic and moves between 1 and 9.9V even after i disconnect everything from the card.  I have run the DAQ diagnostic V2.0.0.0 which reported back that the card was working properly.  I'm wondering if 1) If we fried something will all channels be shot and i'm just searching for a good chanel in vein  2) Is there any way to verify that the card is infact bad or have somebody inspect it?  Thanks

Hello,

It looks like the card may indeed have become damaged. In which case we'll need to do an RMA.

Please call 888-ASK-MYNI and ask the representative to create a service request for an RMA. That way you'll be able to speak with the next available Applications Engineer and we'll get the issue resolved.

Regards,

B Spears
