Datasocket server incompatibility

I am unable to connect between two computers using the datasocket server. The first computer runs LabVIEW 7.1 Base Version on WinXP and the second runs LabVIEW 7.0 Professional Version on WinXP. While trying to connect using DSS, it fails with a message that the versions are incompatible. Is there a way to work around this without having to upgrade/downgrade one of the computers?

Hi l_bala,

That is not true. You should be able to do DataSocket communication between different versions of LabVIEW. Can you post a screenshot of the  error you are getting?

We were trying to integrate our program with our collaborator's program. So I cannot replicate the error right now. I remember that while trying to connect from LabVIEW 7.0 DSS to LabVIEW 7.1 DSS, it gave a connection error saying that the versions were incompatible. Then we tried connecting computers which had the same version (LabVIEW 7.1) and didn't run into any connection problems.
I'll add to this post when I am able to regenerate the error, but it might not be for a week or two.
