Display Data on screen but Only record Data when I press Record

I need to edit my code so that the display screen shows elapsed time and when I press "record"  the cureent value of elapsed time gets sent to the array to be exported in excel and the elasped time resets like a stopwatch. 

NECO2012 (Member)  suggested event structure.  How do I use them properly?
