Does anyone know if LabVIEW 8.5 will run under the virtual XP Mode on a Windows 7 PC?

I have an application that was written in LabVIEW 8.5 on a PC running Windows XP. That PC has been replaced with a new PC that is running Windows 7, but there is also a Virtual XP Mode option in the operating system. I am wondering if the LabVIEW 8.5 will run under this Virtual XP Mode. I also wonder if 8.5 will run under Windows 7. It seems like NI is saying that officially the 2009 and 2010 versions of LabVIEW are the only ones that are supported on Windows 7, but "some" older versions may also run on Windows 7.

You can expand some to:

6.1, 7.0, 7.1, 8.0, 8.2, 8.5 and 8.6

Did you try a search? This question has come up many times. It might work, it might not. NI makes no guarantees. Some people have found it to work. Others have not. Your mileage may vary. Try it and see.

Hi,

I've got a Win 7 64 bit machine, and I'm trying to run Lab VIEW 8.6 within virtual XP mode, since it won't run directly on my 64-bit machine.  The virtual XP mode is 32-bit, so "should" run 8.6.  Seems to work too, little bit.  I'm having trouble getting stuff like MAX doesn't recognize when I've got a 6251 DAQ plugged into the physical machine's USB port.  virtual XP mode has "integration features" that are supposed to let virtual XP mode work with real HW that's connected to the USB port of the physical computer.  I allow the DAQ to "attach" to the virtual XP session, and XP seems to recognize the attachment, but for some reason, MAX doesn't seem to recognize it.

Anyway, just thought I'd pile onto this similar thread instead of start a whole new one about nearly the same thing...

Regards,

Who
