Hi MGarry

instead of using Current VI path or a fixed path try using Default directory and strip it once and then append the name with which you want to save it with.

Hi,

I tried to do what you've said about ActiveX controls but i didn't know how to do it ( I'm not good enough with OCX files) , using the default directory instead of fixed path didn't change anything too so  i tried re-installing Microsoft Office Excel and it worked, unfortunately i could not be able to locate exactly the source of the error but i guess it was something related to Excel ActiveX files.

As i have already mentioned my knowledge of ActiveX controls is modest and i'm wondering if you could explain how to find Excel ActiveX controls and how to proceed to relink to them, it will be a good thing to learn about this

Thank you i couldn't make it work without your help.

Hi,

I just did it the brute force way. I placed an excel vi from the report generation toolkit in a blank vi and I kept opening block diagram vi after vi until I found a broke one then relinked to it. It took hours.

I would have re-installed Office but our IT dept doesn't support Labview, I couldn't get them to help and they would not re-install MS Office without s specific MS Office problem.

Glad you fixed the problem.

My experience with Labview has been similar. Often something breaks, I fix it by re-installing something or deleting something and I have no idea what was wrong or why it was fixed.
