Error with getting started program

Hello everyone, I've watched the tutorials but I am very new to LabVIEW and am having problems running my first VI.  I have an NI PXI-7954R FlexRIO module with an NI 5734 digitizer adapter module attached.  I am trying to run the NI 5734 Getting Started example VI, and have followed the instructions by configuring the Open FPGA VI reference in the block diagram with the correct modules, as well as compiled with the correct bitfile.

Unfortunately, when I run the VI, after a few seconds I get error 1074100509 (stream timed out waiting for a state transition). 

I have installed the FPGA, RIO, and adapter module software and drivers, and NI MAX detects the modules as present so I don't think that is the issue.

Again, this is all very new to me so perhaps I'm making a silly mistake.  Any help that can be provided would be much appreciated.  Thank you for reading.
