Does this only happen in LabVIEW or does it happen in other programs? It looks like others are encountering this in MS Office as well on specific versions of Win10.
As mentioned above, this is a known issue and has been documented by R&D under CAR 677536. It has been fixed in LabVIEW 2018 SP1.
Have you tried the following instructions on the following page? If not, please try those:
http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/371361J-01/lvhowto/maintaining_window_proport/
The following is a summary of the solutions that worked for others on this thread:
"go find your display properties. Look at the X and Y resolutions (they are probably on the order of 2000 each). Change them to exactly half that, and your problems are solved. Windows will recognize that you are using your display in a more reasonable manner, and will change its magnification to 150% (so icons and text will look the same), and now your LabVIEW cursors should be better, as well."
"Right click on desktop Graphic Properties. The default scaling setting is Maintain Display Scaling. (this is what is generating the problem) Changing it to Maintain Aspect Ratio solved the problem."
"Right click on LabVIEW.exe (wherever it's installed), Go to the Compatibility tab, Check the box for Disable display scaling on high DPI settings"
"If you want to work with LabVIEW under Win-10 again, you should go back to Windows 10 Image 1607 (June/July 2016) and prohibit the Windows update (e. g. with the tool O&O SU10)."

Yes, on page 3 of the responses to this question, this was my August 23, 2017 post. I'm still using the same Laptop (with a native resolution of 2560 x 2048, "down-sized" to 1920 x 1080, which is actually not "exactly half that", and with a Scale of 125%. Windows 10 updates itself regularly (I'm currently on Version 1803), and have never seen a problem as the upgrades happen. If I look at my desktop icons, 8 icons fit from top to bottom (I don't have enough to tell you how many fit left-to-right, but they are easy to see, the lettering is easy to read, and I'm happy with the appearance).

Will this problem really only be fixed for LabVIEW 2018? Is this an official and final decision?

Are you sure it has been fixed? I'm using LabVIEW 2018 (32 bit) Version 18.0f2 in Windows10 (10.0.17132) with the screen scaling set to 200% and the LabVIEW cursor is still barely visible.

I know that LV2014 is not supported for Windows 10, but Does anybody know how to solve this problem?
My system is a Windows 10 laptop with intel i7 processor and 3840 x 2160 px resolution screen.
I changed the recomended size fo the text and the application from 250% to 100% but it had no effect on how the icons were shown.
Thanks

I spelled out (several times) what I did with my Dell Inspiron I7 laptop running Windows 10 (x64), Version 1809 (and it's been stable since Version 16xx). My display native resolution, like yours, is native 3840 x 2160, but I had Windows 10 set it to 1920 x 1080, with scaling at 125%. I'm attaching a screen shot of the full screen, showing Desktop Icons (very readable) + Project Explorer (15 point font, very readable) + a Block Diagram (about the size of the Screen, but moved off-center to show Desktop + Project). Note subVIs are 32 x 32 pixels, with lettering in 10 pt Small Fonts, quite readable.
I find it hard to believe that LabVIEW 2014 would be so different in "rendering" from LabVIEW 2016 and higher (I've not noticed a difference on Windows 10 with LabVIEW from Version 7.0 to 2018). However, if you find that the changes that work for me absolutely do not work for you, you should consider (a) getting another Version of LabVIEW, (b) getting another version of Windows, or (c) getting another computer for LabVIEW work.

Hallo the same happened to me overnight, both in LV 2018-32 and-64 my cursors are suddenly micro-tiny. None of the suggestions helped. Company desktop PC with a large(!) 44" display 3840px but cursor(s) barely visible. Only in Labview, no other applications impacted. Rolling back Windows not an option (company administered)
What can one do about it, working is a pain now ...??

Change our resolution to something lower, or play with the scaling that it applies to fonts. There was another recent thread where someone had this issue and they had their scaling at 200% which caused an issue. I don't know if they ever solved their issue and what resolution and scaling settings they finally settled on.

Jens,
I agree, I think your best bet is to change your monitor resolution to 1920x1080. And of course to complain loudly to NI for not solving this issue. 🙂

Hi all,
I have attached an article that details the difficulty being described, as well as the most common work around at this time.
"Small Cursor with 4K Monitor on Front Panel and Block Diagram"

I have also attached an article that points to the CAR ID being fixed in LabVIEW 2018 SP1.
