FLIR USB3 Camera Can't Connect In NI MAX, sometimes

Hi,

I have an FLIR Blackfly S USB 3 camera. It show up in NI MAX at first, but after installing FLIR's own software SpinView SDK (which I needed to do for it show up in MATLAB's gentl adapter (Gen<i>CAM)  and be accessible in MATLAB) I no longer can see the camera under the NI MAX devices list. The camera is listed in device manager and I can see it listed in SpinView and in MATLAB. What is the issue with LABVIEW NI MAX? Is there a way to make it appear again without uninstalling FLIR's SDK? It does show up again in NI MAX if I uninstall spinView.

Thanks for any response,

/happy Phd

I worked (or, rather, I tried to work) with a FLIR Grasshopper camera using LabVIEW and IMAQdx.  I gave up after a few frustrating months.  I do recall I needed to "turn off" the FLIR driver in order to get IMAQdx to "see" the drive.  I don't recall quite how I did that, but maybe I wrote myself a note about this -- let me look ...  No, my notes from four years ago describe the frustration of getting the Camera to perform consistently with FlyCapture or Spinnaker, as well as the inconsistencies between the GenICam functions enumerated in the Grasshopper manual and the behavior of the Camera even with the FLIR software.  I can't find the description of what I did to get IMAQdx to work, but I'm pretty sure I "uninstalled" the FLIR driver (I do recall that I needed to elevate my rights to Administrator when I wanted to switch control between FLIR and LabVIEW).  Sorry.

Same here. It would be nice to have Spinnaker installed for easy camera operation while developing in LabVIEW. I think I might use a second computer.
