I was working today on the network streams, but was stopped by a bug in LabVIEW. When using clusters with the network streams, I got persistently the problem that I couldn't probe my cluster. Eventually I figured out that probing the reader / writer endpoint produces, at probing, the error:
"Failed to load or create probe."
It took some time to figure out how and why, but apparently the network stream doesn't fully support (strict) type definitions for streaming. I demonstrate it in the movie below in LV2010 SP1, but I got the same error in LV2011. It's both for strict and non-strict type definitions.
In order to demonstrate the error, here the movie: http://www.screencast.com/t/khl2kUC5nhv

Hi,
thank you for reporting this bug. I have written a CAR (corrective action request) #357568 to the developers in Austin. Until the bug is fixed you can try this:

Best regards

Just for the reference: today is the 12th of April of the year 2024. Twelve (12) years since the CAR was created. And I still get the error "Failed to create a probe" when, for example, I put an image control reference into the cluster in the LabVIEW 2023Q3.
