Has anyone created a measurement uncertainty calculator in LV?

I need to create a measurement uncertainty calculator/application for measurements.  I was wondering if there are any resource existing out there already that I can pull from to get started, or if I have to invent the wheel here.

I'm looking for anything, where it is parts of the process, equations, GUI, I'm open to anything.  Thanks.

Hello Clampy,

I am an Applications Engineer at National Instruments and am try and assist you in this issue.

As far as I can see there is nothing currently available that will do this for you, I think it is going to need to be created by yourself. What is the nature of your measurements and what you wish to do with them?

If you let me know more about what you are trying to achieve then I shall look into ways in which I may be able to assist you.

Hope to hear from you soon.

I'm working on a metrology project so I have measurement uncertainties to calculate on multiple transducers types, measurement types etc.  The app will need to take inputs such as equipment measurement accuracies, output resolutions, environmental conditions, and even user repeatability is some cases (such as dimensional measurements).

I don't see any roadblocks to being able to create the app, but I wanted to potentially save some time if there were any VIs or apps out there that already did part or all of the MU calculations.  I'm open to free stuff or for purchase apps if they exist.  So this is more of a "see what is available" post.

Hi Clampy,

I've searched all of the resources available here and asked my colleagues whether they knew of any such applications. Unfortunately there was nothing that they knew of that would be of use which probably means there is nothing currently available. If you wished to save yourself time creating the application then we do have alliance member companies that will create applications for you at a fee. These can be found at:

Unfortunately that is all the help I am able to give you at the moment. I hope this helps and wish you all the best in your project.
